WEM Civil in action at Aspect Industrial Estate

Aspect Industrial Estate on Mamre Road, Kemps Creek is currently under construction. This project will provide high-quality industrial facilities focusing on flexibility, functionality and sustainability, creating a market-leading industrial employment precinct for Western Sydney.

This industrial sector estate has provided WEM Civil with the opportunity to demonstrate capability, services and project management expertise for the largest industrial project thus far in the company’s history. As part of the tender process, WEM undertook an extensive assessment of the site conditions, adjoining stakeholder involvement and SSD requirements resulting in Mirvac nominating WEM Civil as the civil construction company of choice for the project.

Commencing on-site in mid-2022, WEM’s project management team has facilitated the demolition of existing structures on-site and coordinated the remediation of unexpected finds during large-scale bulk earthworks. Divided into ten separable portions, the bulk earthworks component of this job has involved 800,000cu.m of cut to fill, with an additional 200,000cu.m of imported soil.

This project has included the construction and planting of the riparian corridor, road construction, a signalised intersection on Mamre Road and completion of the estate landscaping. WEM has provided a strict staging methodology to allow safe traffic management during the construction of the Mamre road intersection and is lead in electrical works along Bakers Lane given the scale of the site.

WEM Civil maintains strong relationships with governing bodies such as Department of Primary Industries and Environment, understanding of SSDA issues and processes has allowed the company to deliver key compliance requirements for this location.
