About the Project
The Gables Estate in Box Hill is a key residential development, with WEM Civil engaged as the principal contractor for its comprehensive construction. Partnering with Celestino, WEM oversaw the entire project, from tree clearing and demolition to civil works and infrastructure upgrades. Our team was responsible for managing all aspects of the development, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
The scope of work included major intersection upgrades at Terry Road, Old Pitt Town Road, and Mount Carmel Drive. These upgrades required meticulous planning to maintain traffic flow and safety while working in live traffic conditions. WEM’s technical expertise ensured minimal disruption and compliance with legislative safety requirements.
Throughout the project, unforeseen ground conditions presented challenges, requiring adaptive solutions and careful management. WEM’s team navigated these challenges with precision, ensuring that the foundations and underground services were addressed without compromising the overall schedule.
One of the key achievements was the successful completion of the road widening at the sales office entrance on Old Pitt Town Road. This critical improvement significantly enhanced connectivity and accessibility, contributing to the overall success of the Gables Estate development and ensuring its positive impact on the surrounding community.
