Windsor Road and Mount Carmel Drive Intersection

WEM Civil continues to deliver infrastructure projects such as Mount Carmel Drive, a new sub arterial road that provides a vital link and access to the recent Hills of Carmel residential development in Box Hill. Linking Windsor Road and Old Pitt Town Road, WEM was engaged as Principal Contractor and stakeholder working with The Hills Shire and Blacktown Councils, to verify complementary components of the works outside RMS dedicated land.

The extension required road construction, to create a three-way signalised intersection widening Windsor Rd from two to four lanes. In addition, a new eastbound bus lane was incorporated along with the new westbound right turn lane. The project included construction to TfNSW standards including select layers, lean mix concrete subbases and deep lift asphalt wearing courses.
The communications and electrical requirements for this project extended to the relocation of a fibre optic Optus link, installation and upgrade of existing public lighting and installation of the NBN and high voltage infrastructure for Endeavour Energy.

Additional civil works to the existing road system including landscaping was required for the median islands and entrance to the estate on Mount Carmel Drive. With the scale of residential development in this area, the infrastructure delivered will be a key link for families and communities in the future.
