About the Project

The project involved cut and fill operations totalling 75,000 cubic metres across a 100,000 square metre site divided into two lots. Key works included a 150-metre extension of the council road with a final asphalt concrete (AC) layer, installation of 600 metres of drainage pipes ranging from 675mm to 1500mm in diameter, and construction of a biofiltration basin featuring three rock headwalls for effective stormwater management.

Significant challenges arose due to adverse weather conditions that threatened to delay progress. To overcome these, the team maximised efficiency during early works, especially prior to commencing basin construction. This proactive planning and adaptability ensured the project stayed on schedule despite the difficult conditions.

At peak production, the team moved up to 8,000 cubic metres of earth per day, operating two scrapers, two dump trucks, and a 90-tonne excavator. This high level of productivity was achieved through effective collaboration with FDC Construction and a strong focus on maintaining safety throughout the project.
