2023 SCHF Grand Prix – Karting for a Cause
WEM Civil continues its longstanding partnership with the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, supporting 2023 Grand Prix – Karting for a Cause fundraising event at Luddenham Raceway for the second year in a row.
The event provides companies with an opportunity to enter teams for some friendly rivalry on the racetrack whilst raising awareness and money for a great cause. The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation raises funds to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it. As one of the largest kids’ health charities in the country, the foundation raises funds for two of the largest hospitals in servicing NSW – The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick.
Graham Ragg, Executive Chairman said, “ We have been supporting The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and SCHF for over 30 years now. The services offered by the hospital to the community in Western Sydney and in broader NSW are so important and as new communities and housing developments are created in the coming years, these services will be vital. WEM Civil is proud to be giving back and contributing to an incredible organisation impacting so many people and their families.”
At the inaugural event in 2022, 200 people participated raising an incredible $59,000 on the day. This year’s event saw 130 people participate including, WEM Civil team members, hospital staff and local businesses again competing for a good cause. Everyone involved could not have been more pleased with this year’s result reaching $72K.
Lisa Woolf-Jones, Head of Corporate Engagement said, “Thank you to everyone who attended the SCHF Grand Prix. It was wonderful to see everyone come together as our Movement of Many, have fun and make a positive impact for a great cause. Through our collective efforts we were able to raise over $72,000! These funds will go to the frontline of kids’ healthcare, investing in the clinical care of kids today, and new innovative research at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for the future of kids everywhere. Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation could not have done this event without WEM Civil going all in for kids’ health.”
With support for the SCHF continuing, WEM Civil looks forward to the next event where it is hoped the community can dig deep once again.
